Urban Politics #65: Waterfront Hotel & Steinbrueck Park

June 9th, 1999

The letter below was sent today (6/9/99) by myself and five other Council Members (listed below) to three City Departments. It asks them to concur with our belief that there are sufficient grounds for the City Council to review and approve or disapprove the proposed Waterfront Marriott Hotel to be constructed just north of the Pike Place Market. If it is built as currently planned it will block the view of Elliott Bay from Victor Steinbrueck Park.

Urban Politics #61: Magnuson Park Update

April 25th, 1999

There are two public design workshops currently scheduled. The first will be Tuesday on April 27th, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Sand Point (7400 Sand Point Way NE). There will not be any formal presentations so you can drop by anytime during those hours. The design team will have three options for a Magnuson Park Design for discussion. They all include approximately 43 acres for athletic fields, an off leash area and significant wetland restoration.
