On Thursday (June 11) all of the City Council Members (with the exception of Peter Steinbrueck who was out of town) sent the Mayor a letter saying that in light of a downtown real estate market that is even stronger than originally projected, it would reassess the spread of the value of the Key Tower building vis a vis the replacement value of office space.

As part of an effort to provide more entertainment opportunities for Seattle s youth, a number of City Council Members have been looking at making adjustments to existing ordinances regulating teen dances and postering, or providing more venues for teen activities and communicating information regarding the youth music scene.

I’m using this UP edition to look at the proposed sale of the Key Tower and share my thoughts about it with you. The City Council meeting of March 16th held off a decision to test the market to find out how much the building could sell for. Council Members Tina Podlodowski, Jan Drago, Sue Donaldson and Margaret Pageler voted to halt any further exploration of the sale.
